Missy’s pups are here! She is the very proud mama of four handsome white & cream male pups. We are shocked to have so many boys and know that some of you will be very disappointed, but we are glad they are here and healthy. She did a fantastic job and she and the pups are resting nicely now. She was so considerate to have them at a decent hour! I will post pictures in the next few days….I like to give mom & babies a significant amount of rest time to bond and make sure that all are nursing and gaining weight before I disturb them too much. We are happy they are all here safe and sound.
MISSY’S LITTER IS HERE!
TEMP IS DROPPING
April 1, 2008
Missy’s temp took a BIG drop this morning, so we are thinking it could be today or tomorrow! She is staying close to her whelping box and not wanting to move around too much. We will be watching her closely today! I will keep the site updated as much as I can…
WE HAVE STARTED TEMPS
March 31, 2008
We started taking Missy’s temp yesterday and we will do this twice a day hoping to catch the “drop” that is typically seen 12-24 hours before delivery. The babies are very active and you can easily feel them moving around in her belly. They are getting ready for their debut! Missy is miserable but enjoying just stretching out and laying around on the cool tile floor. She needs to rest up because once the babies are here she will be hard at work! Keep checking in….hopefully we will have babies by Saturday!
MISSY IS GETTING FAT!
March 26, 2008
Our sweet little Missy is getting bigger and fatter by the day…she only has about 10 more days to go and so she is moving slowly these days. If you have had a baby you can relate! She is getting moodier as well which is very typical for this stage. We will start taking her temp on Sunday which will hopefully tell us when she gets close. Her temperature will drop about 1 whole degree when she gets within 12 – 24 hours of delivery. I always get so excited with anticipation when my mama’s get this close….I also get a little nervous knowing what they will have to go through and knowing there is always a chance for problems to arise. This is her third pregnancy and she has come through with flying colors each time, so I don’t anticipate any problems, but I’m always so relieved when the babies are all here safe and sound. I will post updates as often as I can….I know some of you are getting as excited as I am!
