WHERE DO I BEGIN?

October 19, 20015

I don’t know exactly where to begin.  Last Tuesday I was sitting and having lunch with my husband when he got called out for a brush fire (he is a volunteer firefighter in Bastrop County).  That small brush fire turned into the wildfire that has ravaged Bastrop County for the past 6 days.  We were evacuated from our home last Wednesday and although we do know that our home has not been destroyed we still have no power.  It has been such a crazy and hectic time with all of our pups, but we are all safe and “managing” the best we can.

I want to personally thank everyone for all the sweet notes, texts, calls, emails, etc….it has meant the world to us and kept us going.  Truly….I have had some very down days this last week and every time I heard from one of you it was like a breath of fresh air….we have felt so loved….

A special thanks to those of you who helped with our pups and “fostered” them for the past few days.  They are so disoriented right now and I know that little extra “TLC” is going a long way!

I have realized what an awesome community we have around us with our “pom” family.  Words cannot express how grateful I am for all of you….

As soon as power is restored we will be going home and I will get busy catching up with my emails, photos, etc.   Thanks so much for your patience through this whole ordeal.

On a sad note, we did lose all of Tiff’s babies.  She had three precious little ones just before the fire but they were very early and did not make it.  We aren’t quite sure what went wrong, but this has happened once before with her so we are keeping a close eye on her and we are going for a comprehensive check up soon.  She is doing fine now, but her hormones may be off.

Ziggy’s babies are adorable and getting bigger by the day….Ziggy has done great through this process….her babies were only 2 days old when we evacuated and she has not skipped a beat.  Will get new photos up this week.

Hope you all have fared better than we this past week, but we are so grateful to have a home to go back to and so sad to see the familes who have lost everything.  Bastrop is a resilient community and we will make it through this again!  🙂

THANK YOU!

I just wanted to publicly thank so many of you all for your kindness and patience these last two weeks.  Not only have we had a whole slew of puppies leaving this past week or so, but just in the last two weeks my husband nearly lost a finger in a chain saw injury (lots of trips to the doctor and very intensive hand surgery), my brother had an emergency surgery to remove one of his kidneys, and my dad had a 3 day notice to put in a pacemaker for his heart.  With all of this going on, I am a little behind on my photos and updates and I so appreciate all of the kind words and patience as we have made it through all of this.  Thankfully everyone is on the mend and feeling well!  🙂

Puppies are still going out this week and as always…bittersweet.  This has been one of the nicest groups of puppies we have ever had and we are soooo proud of them and so happy with the wonderful homes they are going to be a part of.

I hope everyone is winding up the summer well and getting ready for the Fall season.  We are anxiously awaiting the first hint of cool air to signal that maybe we will be done with triple digit heat….we are so over it by this time of year!  🙂

Blessings to all….

Whew! We made it!

July 10, 2015

Well we made it through the last two weeks and it is all just a blur.  We have delivered 7 litters, celebrated the 4th of July and two of our granddaughters birthdays with family in the last two weeks.  Throw in there a quick trip to Louisiana and well….there has barely been time to breath.  But I am taking a big “sigh” today and looking at all of these gorgeous little babies scattered throughout our house….we have been immensely blessed by good health of our mamas and gorgeous little babies.  This is the largest number of litters we have ever had give birth in such a short time frame.  And to top it off….only one “middle of the nighter!” I was prepared to lose so much sleep, but my mamas were all so nice to me to give birth mostly in the daytime….I am truly grateful for that!  My sweet husband delivered one all by himself and did a fantastic job.  He and “Muffin” are now forever bonded!  LOL

I hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th weekend.  We had lots of fun and company here, but I spent most of the day between two litters being born….made for a very busy day!  We are so blessed in this country to enjoy the freedoms that we have and having a son in the military has given me a new appreciation of the sacrifices that have been made for this country!  Thanks to all of you have been a part of that.

Wishing you all a wonderful & fun summer.

Getting Excited!

June 10, 2015

We have been looking at the calendar and trying to get organized and prepared for all the activity about to explode on us.  We have several litters coming in just a few weeks and they are all due within a 2 week period….it is going to be a busy July and August!  🙂  We should have a vast array of color and some really adorable puppies.  I do have a waiting list already, so if you are interested in a pup from any of the upcoming litters, be sure to fill out my Buyer’s Questionnaire and let me know that you would like to be added to my waiting list.

Hope everyone is enjoying the warm sunshine and eating lots of fresh seasonal veggies!  🙂

Happy Summer to everyone….
