Our sweet little Gwennie is getting very close to delivering our last litter for this Spring season. She is due tomorrow and starting to show some signs of nesting tonight. I will try to post news as soon as her babies arrive. We are hoping to have some very beautiful creams, and maybe some partis or tris. We don’t know what to expect as this is a first time pairing for these two.
Hopefully we will have babies by tomorrow night….keep checking back!
GWEN IS GETTING CLOSE
WE HAVE BABIES!
March 4, 2009
Well, Leila surprised us today by going into labor a few days early. It was a story book delivery and she now has 4 gorgeous girls and 2 boys. Finally we got some girls! “grin” She was as big as a house and now we know why! Six! Wow! The girls are: #1 blue merle, #2 beaver/cream #3 black w/white markings and #4 blue merle. The boys are: #1 black w/white markings, and #2 blue merle. Birthweights were all between 4 1/8 and 5 1/2 oz. I hope to have pictures posted soon. She is such a great mom and both mom and babies are resting and doing great. It has been an exciting day and I am so thankful, as always, to know everyone is safely here and doing well.
A MILLION THANKS

I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for all of the emails and calls checking on us and offering assistance. Many of you already know that 1500 acres of beautiful forest and many people’s homes and businesses have been burning since last Saturday here in Bastrop County. The fire is mostly contained and is not spreading, but the firefighters will be working through the rest of the week on hot spots that are creeping up. Our county is the driest county in Texas and the fire (started by downed power lines) spread so quickly. Our street was one of the worst areas burning and at one point we were under evacuation. We had loaded our cars with our precious dogs and puppies and an overnight bag and were awaiting final word to evacuate when the fire started moving east and away from us. It was a scary and overwhelming experience. We were so fortunate, but many others were not. Family homes are completely gone, some with only a tin roof laying on the ground….others with only the remains of a car looking strange sitting in the forest alone where a beautiful house and family used to live. The devastation is hard to see and comprehend. The resilience of the people and families has been an inspiration to me….the community is rallying and reminds me of how big people’s hearts can be and how much joy there is in giving.
No one lost their life, and to my knowledge, no animals were harmed. Friends and neighbors were releasing animals in fences to allow them to escape the blaze.
We have received so many emails and calls and I cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are. Thank you so much for your concern and for your thoughts and prayers. Please continue to pray for all those families who are now displaced.
Going through a situation like this certainly brings to the forefront of your mind how fragile life is and how quickly things can change. Our faith, our family, and friends are the only things that are enduring, and I have a renewed appreciation for those I love.
I have been a bit behind with my photos and updates because we were without power and water for a time and we still do not have internet access at the house. I hope to have Bella’s GORGEOUS boys posted by the end of the week and Leila is due this weekend. We have had a lot of interest in her litter and we are very excited ourselves as this is a first time pairing with these two.
Have a beautiful day and cherish those you love…..
DID SOMEONE SAY SPRING?
February 23, 2009
I heard someone say recently that Spring was just around the corner and I could not believe my ears! Was Winter ever here? Oh yeah, we did have one weekend of frigidly cold weather, but I thought that was just a teaser! Truly, this winter has been incredibly beautiful and almost Spring like…..makes me wonder what summer will be like here?!
Our puppies are thriving and loving it though….they are all frisky with the cool mild temperatures and love chilling in the sunshine while the cool breeze blows across their face….sounds like a pretty good life, don’t you think? Wow….I’m thinking beach….breeze….nice warm sun….
Back to reality….we are in the midst of lots of loving pups and some soon to be ready for their new homes. We have a variety of colors and sizes, so please be sure to call or email if you need more information or pictures on any particular one. We are very particular about placing our puppies, so please do not be offended by our long questionnaire/application. It just helps me to know a little bit about where my babies are going.
I have had some of you asking about a repeat buyer’s discount, and yes, we do give a 15% discount to repeat buyers. And yes, it applies if purchasing two at one time.
Back to puppyland! “grin”
