STILL WAITING

February 4, 2010
We are still patiently (or shall I say “impatiently!”) waiting on BB’s babies. We really thought she would have them today, but we still are not seeing any signs of true labor, so we must wait!
We are watching her like a hawk and will report any news as soon as we can.
Thanks to all of you who are anxiously waiting with us!

EXPECTANTLY AWAITING

February 3, 2010
Well, BB is as big as a house and showing signs of early labor. She is nesting and wanting to stay very close by. She is due tomorrow, so we hope it will be soon. She is such a sweetheart and such a good mom. I”m very anxious for her to get her babies here safely so today and tomorrow will probably be very long days for me as we wait and prepare. We are expecting rain all day today and tomorrow so it is a great opportunity to put some soup on and bake some bread!
I will be letting everyone know as soon as I can once the babies arrive. I know many of you are anxiously waiting just as I am and can’t wait to see her beautiful babies.
Emma and Missy are due on Valentines Day, so we don’t have much longer to wait for them as well.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.

MOMS GETTING FAT!

1/25/2010
Our expecting mamas are getting very fat but still not slowing down too much! They are so enthralled with this gorgeous weather and perfect temperatures that they think it is Spring!
BB is due next week but isn’t showing any signs yet. It is still a bit early. She will probably be nesting by the weekend. This is always such an exciting time for me but very nerve wrecking as well…..I’m always happy when the pups have arrived and I know everyone is doing well. The labor is as stressful for me as it is for them I think! LOL
I will be sending out updates as soon as the litters begin to arrive. I have had so much interest in these litters, so if you are considering adopting, I would love for you to fill out a buyer’s questionnaire and have it on file. It really speeds up the process once you have selected a puppy. If you cannot download it from my site, please let me know and I would be happy to email you a copy!
Hope everything is well in your world….have a terrific day!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010

Jan 11, 2010
Writing 2010 sounds to me like I am in some futuristic movie. It is just incredible to me that a decade has already passed in this new century. I have heard it said that “time is man’s worst enemy” and I can see how that is true….so many things to do….so little time.
Well I hope 2010 is finding everyone optimistic and ready to face all of the challenges this year will bring.
I am still trying to recover from all the overeating, overspending, oversleeping, overcooking, overcleaning….the list goes on! LOL
I love the holidays and all that goes with them, but it takes me a month to get real clothes on again….”weren’t you in those sweats yesterday?” “No…different pair today….they are just very similar!”
Oh well, it was worth it!
We are enjoying a little break right now before our new litters arrive in February. We are very excited about some new pairings and we are expecting some adorable, sweet little lovebugs.
I always get a lot of questions about males vs. females, so I am reposting something I have previously written. Hope this helps…you just can’t go wrong either way….poms are just the best.

The biggest complaint I often hear about boys is that they like to “mark” and have a hard time potty training. This can be true, however, if properly nuetered at the right time, this tendency is greatly improved and they can be trained just as well as the females. In the long run, there are great advantages to owning a male….they tend to be less moody, usually much more affectionate, and the biggest advantage of all is that they do not “blow” their coats as often as the females. Of course the males, (just like every other species, except for humans, of course…”grin”) are usually the prettiest and have the nicest coats. They will still shed some, and lose some of their coat once a year or so, but not nearly as much as the females do. All in all, they make extraordinary pets and incredibly loyal companions, and my boys stay happy all the time! (Just love ’em and feed ’em and they are happy! mmm, sounds familiar doesn’t it?!)
Now for the girls….the biggest complaint about girls is losing their coat once or twice a year and dealing with their cyles….however, this can be greatly improved by spaying as it is related to hormonal cycles. They also tend to be a little “bossy” and “independent”, and somewhat “moody” in my experience (wow…I’m realizing we girls are the same everywhere! “grin”)….however…….having said all that, there is just something about the girls, well, we’re just irresistible, don’t you think?!
Bottom line is that both genders come with their own particulars, but truthfully pomeranians have personalities that completely steal your heart….each one is individual and unique, and you wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. (And it is truly hard to own just one! “grin”)
