Today has been such a beautiful day for gardening. However, there are things to watch out for as you are gardening if you have a new pup on board.
Puppies have a natural curiosity and love to dig and consume just about everything, so I thought you should know about some of the hidden dangers in your garden area. You can find more information on the internet, but some of the more toxic bulbs, plants and flowers include daffodil, certain lilies, crocus, hyacinth and lily of the valley.
There are also fertilizers and growth enhancers, including cocoa mulch, blood and bone meal and any fertilizer containing disulfoton or organophosphates that might be harmful to your little one.
If you think your pet has ingested anything harmful, there is a Pet Poison Helpline at 800.213.6680.
Just be smart and remember you have a very curious little creature that doesn’t know any better.
Hope this helps.
SPRING GARDEN
BUSY SEASON
May 24, 2010
Wow! What a busy time the last few weeks have been. I am always amazed at what a busy month May is. I thought when my kids graduated from high school that the craziness of May would subside….was I ever wrong! It seems that when the kids are grown, then comes the deluge of graduations, weddings, baby showers, recitals, etc. and just when you think it is beginning to wane…look out….here come the grandkids! “grin”
Oh well, I feel so blessed to be able to participate in these things. Stepping stones of life….I never want to take them for granted.
Speaking of grandbabies…my little pom babies are getting bigger and cuter by the day. We have already placed half of our current litters and surprisingly all we have left are our beautiful creams and whites…..trends must be changing….these are the colors that used to be the first to sell. Leila’s babies are really getting to be just gorgeous….she always gives us poms with the most incredible coats. Very thick and lush, but very soft and silky too. These coats always stay looking so pretty and tend to have less matting.
Gwennies babies look like little “munchkins” and you just want to eat them up. I am working on getting new photos this week….can’t seem to keep up they are changing so fast! “)
If you are interested in adopting one of these little poms for a lifetime of love and companionship, please do not hesitate to call or email anytime. If I don’t respond immediately…I am right in the middle of something important, but I will get back to you ASAP.
Have a wonderful day!
BABIES ARE LEAVING
April 14, 2010
Most all of our Spring pups will be leaving us within the next week or two. As always, we are really sad to see them go, but so thrilled knowing that they are going to wonderful homes. They are so much fun at this age and so curious about EVERYTHING! It is fun watching them explore and learn new things. I will miss that!
We have 5 babies left to find their forever homes, and they may be last, but certainly not least! Interesting they are all white or cream. Usually these are the first to go, but we have had lots of interest in the darker colors this time. These pups are all beautiful. Each one has their very own unique personality and it is such fun watching them interact with one another.
Our two oldest boys (Polar & Blizzard) are from BB’s litter and the rest belong to Crystal. If you are looking for an adorable companion you can’t go wrong with any of these darling pups.
I am happy to email more pictures or even short videos to serious inquiries. Would love to answer questions by email or phone anytime.
I hope you are enjoying your Spring as much as I am. We have some new litters coming up and I will be sending out updates/notifications when we do. If you would like to be on my updates/notification list, just send me your email and I’ll add it.
HAPPY SPRING
April 1, 2010
Wow….where did March go??? I just LOVE this time of year. Everything is so fresh and green….a very special sort of green that only happens at this time every year. Life is bursting out all over and the birds are singing and butterflies are appearing out of nowhere. The wild flowers here in Central Texas are absolutely extraordinary with all of this much needed rain. It is like living in the middle of a painting for a few weeks. It truly is hard to accept that these colors are real….what an incredible artist God is!
I hope you are enjoying similar beauty wherever you are. Such a beautiful and blessed time of year…..I wish everyone a wonderful weekend…full of joy and hope and the reality of “new life”…..
These next two weeks will be crazy with all of our puppies taking their turn at the vet and puppies getting to meet their new owners.
If I am slow at responding to emails, please give me extra “grace”….my days will be very full for the next couple of weeks, but I will respond as quickly as I can! We still have some adorable babies waiting to see who their new owners will be….this has been such a great group of babies and we are sad to see them go, as always, but so excited when we feel like they are going to such great homes!
Thanks to all of you who have been sending in current pictures of your “babies”….I love it! Keep them coming!!!
