BRAVING THE COLD

February 10, 2011
I hope everyone is staying warm with this crazy cold weather. I know we can’t compare to many places in the country right now, but for us Texans it is mighty cold!
All of our babies (and adults) are snug and warm but they all seem to enjoy the cool air and even the little bit of snow!
I will be taking new pictures and updating the website this weekend. Our three boys from Ellie are just so cute and are approaching the irresistible age….so fun and sweet. They are still mostly sleeping right now, but just beginning to get some personality and learning to walk and get around. They will be maturing a lot in the next few weeks and then the fun begins! πŸ™‚
We are also looking forward to the birth of Roxie’s babies which are due in just 12 days. She is a tiny girl, so we are not expecting a big litter, but she is pretty fat! This will be her first litter, so we are especially excited to see what she will have.
We also have several other litters coming up in March and I will be posting more information on those soon.
Stay warm! πŸ™‚

ONLY IN TEXAS

January 30, 2011
Can you believe we are already a month into the New Year?!
It has been the most spectacular day here….80 degrees and beautiful sunshine….really hard to believe we are in the middle of winter. My peach trees are blooming in response to the sunny weather, but sadly they will not fare well with the snow flurries predicted for Wednesday and 20 degrees…..only in Texas can you wear shorts and fur coats in the same week!
Most of our winter babies have left this week….only Dunkin and Beardie are still available and they are so adorable…..I know they will find their new homes soon.
Ellies babies are getting bigger and fatter by the day and Amber’s beautiful little girl whom we were hoping to keep is the tiniest thing ever! I may not be able to keep her after all….she is currently charting less than 3 lbs…..not a good candidate for a breeding program. She is oh, so beautiful, and I will wait another week or so and see if she gets any bigger….if not, I will post her as available. πŸ™
Hope everyone is enjoying the New Year and getting prepared for another big cold front to hit us….I think I will make a big pot of soup tomorrow for the cold days ahead…..
We are looking forward to Roxie’s litter in February….hoping for some gorgeous little partis. Let me know if you would like to be added to my updates list and you will be notified when they arrive!

ELLIES BABIES ARE HERE

January 23, 2011
Ellie delivered her babies right on time on January 18th with a classic text book delivery and mom and babies are doing great. We could not believe she had three boys! We have had such a run on boys lately and very unusual to have so many litters with ONLY boys! But we are so grateful that they are healthy and thriving and Ellie is so happy to have puppies again. She has been resting for the past year or so and has been so jealous of the other moms with babies. She is very protective of her little ones and so proud of them!
She had one beautiful cream boy….very light tan…just a beautiful color. The next was a striking cream and ice white parti and one is a handsome cream/orange sable.
All three babies weighed between 4.5 and 5 oz. They are very healthy and hardy eaters and keeping mom busy! We look forward to watching these boys mature. Already cute little faces on these guys and great coats already coming in as well.
We are taking deposits on this litter and they should be ready for their new homes around the middle of March.

AMBER HAS A BABY GIRL

January 16, 2011
Amber & Taz had a beautiful little baby girl last night after a very long night of labor. Sometimes having just one is harder than having several babies. We are so pleased to have her as I had begun to think her breeding never did take. She never gained too much weight and didn’t seem big at all. But she had classic labor signs starting right on her due date so we knew something was up.
She is a beautiful little orange girl that we think will look just like her mom only a little lighter perhaps. We have decided to keep this little girl with us, but we do plan on breeding her again towards the end of the year.
Ellie, on the other hand, is as big as a house, so we have no doubt that her babies will be arriving shortly. She is due on Tuesday, but if she gets any bigger I think she will pop! She is not a very big girl herself, so she is just waddling around right now and staying very close to her bed and to me….whichever is closer! We will keep you posted of any news about her litter. We are so excited to see what she and Jack will produce. We know they will be sweethearts and we expect them to be beautiful as well!
