We are still waiting on Topaz’s litter to come…..I have not slept much these last few nights as she has started labor and then stopped so many times.
Today is her “official” due date so we are really hoping it will be today….she has been panting and contracting for days, but not started into her second phase of labor yet….first time mom, so it is always longer the first time and I just need to be patient! LOL
Anyway….will post news as soon as she starts! We are so excited about her babies.
Have a super day!
STILL WAITING!!!
SAD NEWS
February 24, 2011
My heart is very heavy as I write this. Last night was very hard, and bitter sweet as we had two moms in labor. Roxie finally went into labor very early this morning and delivered one stillborn baby. She had obviously lost it weeks ago as the baby was not even fully developed yet. That is why she had not gained any more weight these last few weeks. She is very upset and really grieving. My heart just breaks….I know she will be back to normal in a few days, but the process is so hard….
In the midst of dealing with that in the wee hours of the morning, Topaz began active labor. She is still in the early stages and it could still be 24 hours or more, but this is her first litter, so she is nervous and not quite sure what to do, so obviously doesn’t want me to leave her side…..reminds me of the days I was up with sick children and rocking the night away….only somehow losing sleep isn’t as easy as it was when I was younger!
All is quiet right now and everyone is settled in, but we are trying to gear up for Topaz’s litter. I think she will be a great mom….just can’t wait for them to be here!
I will post any news as I can…..
STILL WAITING ON ROXIE
February 21, 2011
Well, we are patiently (but anxiously) awaiting the birth of Roxie’s litter. She doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of labor yet, so we may still be a few days off.
I will keep you posted!
Topaz is due in a week and she is as big as a house and getting very uncomfortable. We have already put her in her whelping box to sleep at night so she will be used to it.
We are all on edge around here, with hawk eyes watching them all the time….so nerve wrecking! π
AMBER’S BABY HAS FOUND A HOME
February 18, 2011
Our beautiful little baby girl from Amber has found a wonderful home. We wanted so badly to keep her, but decided to let her go because she just wasn’t going to be big enough to breed. She is going to have a very pampered and spoiled life and as sad as we are to see her go, I am very excited knowing she is going to be in a place where she will be so loved. She is getting so pretty and I will post some pictures of her in the next week or so since so many of you have asked about her.
Roxie’s babies could be born anytime, but I think she will be on or after her due date.(Feb. 21) She is not very big, so I don’t think there are many, but she is definitely pregnant. The anticipation is killing me! π
This is Roxie’s first litter and I am like a nervous mother on the first litter. I think she will do great, but I will be very happy when they are all here safe and sound!
I will try to post news as soon as I can once she starts to deliver.
Topaz will be expecting her litter around the first of March. She is getting bigger by the day and we are very excited about her litter as well.
We will have a VERY exciting Spring as I have several other litters due in March and April. We should have some beautiful colors this Spring and some adorable little babies.
If you would like to be notified when new litters are born, be sure to email me and let me know. It’s going to be a fun Spring!
