My beautiful little girl Amber went into labor last night, right on schedule, and early this morning she gave birth to a gorgeous and very tiny little girl. We were hoping to keep back a girl from this litter, so we are planning on keeping this girl. She is darling and we are so proud of Amber.
We have recently bred two other females and I will be posting them on the upcoming litter page soon.
The babies are getting to be just gorgeous and all are beginning to play and interact. I just love this age…..they are so much fun to watch.
We are praying for rain…..I have never experienced this kind of oppresive heat and dryness….and August is usually our worst month, so we don’t have much relief in sight!

I have gotten so much positive feedback from my website, but thanks to my amazing first born son, I will have a new and even better website up very soon. Many of the elements will be the same, but it will have a slightly new look and hopefully be even easier to navigate. I am not sure exactly when it will be ready, but I know it is close, so don’t be surprised one day when you come to my site and it looks a bit different! 🙂

The heat here in Texas, as you probably already know, is extremely bad right now and we are under “extraordinary drought” conditions which I think is the worst you can have. We lost hundreds of trees on our land just a few years ago from drought, and now so many more are dying….just so sad.

Our temperatures have been in the triple digits now for 31 days and the weather man just said this morning that we are going to have a heat wave next week!!!! What in the world will that be like???

The heat totally saps the energy from your body, and I can see it in my pups too. They are all frisky and running and playing in the morning (and going to the pool about every three minutes). But by noon, they are sacked out with me in the air conditioning and sprawled everywhere….it is a sight to see. It reminds me of the scene in “Gone with the Wind” where the ladies strip to their undergarments and everyone is resting with the fans blowing on them trying to stay cool during the hot afternoon hours. LOL

I recently set up an oscillating fan in “our” room… (my office and laundry room is also the “doggy” room and where we all hang out most of the time). The air conditioner is running all the time, but still can’t quite keep up with 105 degrees, so the fan helps with that a bit. So….they are all lined up…totally sacked out…just in range of the fan. Hair is blowing to the music and movement of the fan and they are in heaven…..what a life they have….no worries….must be nice! 🙂

I have had an abundance of boys lately, and I have had so many people asking about the pros & cons to each, I have decided to repost a blog I wrote awhile back which gives you my opinion, for what it is worth. Always happy to discuss it further by phone or email if you would like to. Hope this helps for those who can’t decide!

The biggest complaint I often hear about boys is that they like to “mark” and have a hard time potty training. This can be true, however, if properly nuetered at the right time, this tendency is greatly improved and they can usually be trained just as well as the females. In the long run, there are great advantages to owning a male….they tend to be less moody, usually much more affectionate, and the biggest advantage of all is that they do not shed their coats as often as the females. Of course the males, (just like every other species, except for humans, of course…”grin”) are usually the prettiest and have the nicest coats. They will still shed some, and lose some of their coat once a year or so, but not nearly as much as the females do. All in all, they make extraordinary pets and incredibly loyal companions, and my boys stay happy all the time! (Just love ’em and feed ’em and they are happy! mmm, sounds familiar doesn’t it?!)
Now for the girls….the biggest complaint about girls is losing their coat once or twice a year and dealing with their cyles….however, this can be greatly improved by spaying as it is related to hormonal cycles. They also tend to be a little “bossy” and “independent”, and somewhat “moody” in my experience (wow…I’m realizing we girls are the same everywhere! “grin”)….however…….having said all that, there is just something about the girls, well, we’re just irresistible, don’t you think?!
Bottom line is that both genders come with their own particulars, but truthfully pomeranians have personalities that completely steal your heart….each one is individual and unique, and you wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. (And it is truly hard to own just one! “grin”)

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful July 4th weekend. What a privilege to live in such an amazing country and to have the freedoms that we enjoy. I hope everyone has the opportunity to eat hot dogs, potato salad and baked beans with watermelon on the side! At least that is what we love in the South.

We are still experiencing one of the worst droughts in recorded history so all of our firework celebrations have been cancelled, but we will be celebrating in spirit anyway….

Our new babies are all doing so well and getting cuter and fluffier by the day. Only one litter has their eyes open so far, but the others should be opening sometime this next week.

All of my girls, from all the current litters, are now spoken for. Lots of people like to have girls for pets, and they do make wonderful companions, but boys are wonderful too. I have so many people ask me about the difference between boys and girls, so tonight or tomorrow I will repost a blog I wrote awhile back that may help in deciding about a boy or girl. Whatever the sex, poms truly are the best! 🙂
