March 5, 2012
I cannot tell you what the sight of gorgeous wildflowers waving and dancing in the sunlight does for my soul.
Last October after returning to my home after that horrendous wildfire here in Bastrop County, there was nothing but grey and black all around us. Even though, thankfully, our home remained in tact, the beautiful green forest around us was completely destroyed except for a portion on one side. Describing the scene is beyond my ability with words….just such an emptiness and lifelessness all around.
I knew in my heart that life would eventually return, but oh how sad to see things in that state…..so, of course I got right online and ordered wildflowers seeds, and I sowed them in November, and in December and then again in January.
Last month was so exciting as I began to see little bits of green emerging and this month the color has popped up like fireworks on the fourth of July! Oh….what a beautiful sight! ….especially in contrast to the burned forest and fallen trees all around. The combination of colors, shapes, and sizes is amazing and truly makes my heart sing….what an incredible Master Artist we have! 🙂
Everything is beginning to bloom early this year as we have had such a mild winter and the bees and birds are very busy all around us!
There is a special little “hop” even amongst all of our pomeranians…they are enjoying this warm sun and cool breeze as well. The black ones like to hang out wherever there is shade and nice cool grass, and the others just run wherever they can and chew on all the different textures of leaves and branches, and whatever else they can find to play with.
I hope you are all enjoying the beginnings of Spring too, wherever you are. There is nothing more exciting and beautiful than new life.
Speaking of “new life”, I have two new litters due the first part of March, so we are excitedly anticipating new babies which is always fun.
If you would like to be added to my updates/notification list, just send me an email and I will add you so you will be notified of new litters, etc. Happy Pre-Spring! 🙂
Ahhhh…..SPRING!
CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTION
Feb. 13, 2012
I was cleaning up my desk today and realized that my AKC Certificate of Inspection was buried beneath some filing. I meant to post it in December, but that is the way my life has been lately!
As busy and crazy as the week before Christmas is, of course the inspector from AKC would decide to come out and inspect my business on December 20th! What a crazy day that was, but at the end of the day, I was glad to have it over and Mr. James gave us another Gold Stamp of approval which according to the inspector only a few are given this coveted stamp! So….I had to brag a little. We are pleased to have been given the Gold Stamp Approval stating that we have gone *above and beyond* the requirements set by AKC to be approved as breeders for AKC registered puppies.
I hope to get my certificate posted on the website soon for all to see.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow, for Valentine’s Day.
May you find someone to touch with words of kindness and love….
A Month for Love
February 6, 2012
Wow,
I can hardly believe January is already gone and I forgot to say hello!
This is a crazy winter in Texas…I didn’t mow a single time last summer because the drought was so severe the grass could not even grow. And now…I’m mowing in February! crazy….
It has been a busy season and many of our pups are leaving us this week and next…such a beautiful bunch. Always bittersweet to see them go, but wow, what a great bunch of people I have met to give them new homes. We are so blessed.
We are down to the last few of our mid Winter babies and they are at such a cute stage. They are running and chewing and tackling each other and “strutting their stuff” to see who is top dog. Very entertaining….I get nothing done! 🙂
Pomeranians fill your heart with so much love….they truly are irresistible! Never have I known such a sensitive and truly loving breed. If you have never owned a pomeranian you have to have one to know what I’m talking about and for those of you who do have one….well, you know…..
BB delivered a gorgeous litter last week which I will be posting soon.
Five Girls!!!!! We were really down on the girls this past year, so she is making up for the deficit! All just beautiful…..three dark creams/light chocolate, one black, and one orange sable. All were 4 to 4 1/2 oz. at birth and she delivered all of them in just an hour and a half…..she amazes me. They are doing great and I hope to get pictures up soon.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012!
Jan. 10, 2012
Happy New Year! I hope things are getting back to normal for everyone. I hope 2012 holds great things for you all and I hope you are looking forward to a new start as much as I am.
2011 was an incredible year for Dee Dees Poms and we have placed so many precious babies in the most fantastic homes. You guys are awesome!
I just feel the need to say thank you to all of you who have made this past year so fun. I absolutely LOVE hearing from all of you and I have enjoyed so many photos and stories and I just love to know that these precious bundles of fur are continuing to be loved on by such great people.
I wish there was a way to share all of the great Christmas cards I received with photos of all the poms! (and of course the family too, but we know whose the cutest, right?! LOL) They are all just adorable. And I just got a Happy New Year card this week that was adorable too with two happy little poms in the photo…precious! 🙂
One of these days I am going to make a calendar with all the cute photos….wouldn’t that be great?
On another note….Priscilla, my beautiful little orange girl, kept me up all night last night…ugh! But it was worth it, because she has given birth to three adorable little babies and all are healthy and doing great. Mom is a little tired(not as tired as me I bet!), but to be expected. She was a couple of days past her due date and she had a bit of a time with one of them, but they are all doing just great now.
I will be sending out an update/birth announcement by the end of the week with some photos and more information. I do have deposits on the litter, so not sure which ones will be available yet.
If you are not on my updates/notification list, just let me know and I will add you.
Happy 2012! 🙂
